Boasting superior genetics, quality, disease package, flavor, and yields, Westar Seeds is proud to roll out their latest hybrid zucchini variety\u2014the Isabella hybrid grey zucchini.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The strong breeding lines in Isabella make it a grey zucchini that out-yields its competitors\u2014and today\u2019s leading established varieties on the market\u2014 every time.<\/p>\n

Depending on climate conditions and skills of the grower, Isabella is expected to easily produce 200 to 300 more boxes of squash per hectare<\/strong> compared to other grey zucchini varieties.<\/p>\n

Adding to its edge, Isabella also touts the widest disease package on the market<\/strong>, especially for Mexico. Westar reports resistances to Papaya Ringspot Virus (PRSV), Squash Leaf Curl Virus (SLCV), Watermelon Mosaic Virus (WMV), and Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus (ZYMV).<\/p>\n

Isabella\u2019s fruit quality is also second-to-none<\/strong>, with reported better flavor than other grey zucchinis. The plant also grows in a unique shape, making harvests exceptionally easy and more efficient than ever before.<\/p>\n

With a remarkably early maturity date<\/strong> as well, growers are the very first to market with tons of product, amazing yields, amazing quality, and remarkable profits\u2014all of which makes Isabella seed immediately pay itself off for the buyer, despite slightly higher priced hybrid seed.<\/p>\n

\"isabella-bed\" Westar is confident this new variety will lead the charge anew compared to already established hybrid grey zucchinis on the market, with a test planting scheduled this week (the week of Feb. 26th, 2018) to demonstrate and prove Isabella\u2019s amazing characteristics.<\/p>\n

Results will be open to the public in about 45 days, dates pending. Westar\u2019s trial planting of Isabella this week, along with a comparative competitor planting, is expected to reach maturity around this time.<\/p>\n

Field days for farmers, established customers, new customers, and seed industry leaders to observe Isabella\u2019s clear advantages are to tentatively be held in El Centro, California; Guadalajara, Mexico; and Morgan Hill, California.<\/p>\n
